An awesome healthy breakfast is all you need to start your day with..Here you go with a very easy and healthy vegetable upma made with sooji /rava, with the richness of grated coconut and to go along with the amazing INDIAN TEA..You can enjoy this upma with any of your favorite side dish..
PREP : 5 MINS | COOK TIME 10 MINS | TOTAL TIME : 15 MINS
INGREDIENTS
Roasted sooji/rava : 2 cups
Carrots : 1/2 a carrots chopped into small cubes
Frozen green beans(mattar) : 1/3 cup
Onion : 1/2 onion finely chopped
Ginger : a medium sized finely chopped
Coconut(freshly grated) : 1/2 a cup
Salt : to taste
Green chillies : 2 in numbers
Water : 1 1/2 cup
Oil : 1 1/2 tablespoon
Mustard : 1 1/2 teaspoon
METHOD
Heat up a kadai or a pan.Once the pan is hot enough add the mustard and wait till it pops completely . Then to it add the chopped ginger and onion and add a little bit of salt to it saute till it gets caramelized. once it is done add the chopped carrots and green peas to it and cook it,cook them for 2 mins. After that add 1 cup of water to it and give a boil.Once the water starts boiling add roasted rava /sooji to it and mix it well break all the lumps with the a spoon or spatula.If u feel the sooji is not cooked well just sprinkle water and keep on mixing till all the lumps are gone and u get it as shown in the picture.You can add salt if needed. As a final touch add the grated coconut to it and mix well.Garnish it with curry leaves and also you cann your favorite dry fruits and nuts..
You are free to add your favorite veggies to it and improvise.Have it with ripe banana or papad
INDIAN TEA
INGREDIENTS
MILK : 1 GLASS
WATER : 1 GLASS(same glass i which u took milk)
TEA POWDER : 2 TABLESPOON(i have used RED LABEL brand)
GINGER : A small piece crushed
METHOD
In a vessel boil both the milk and water along with the crushed ginger,once it is boiling add the 2 tablespoon of tea powder to it and boil it for 1-2 mins till u get the desired colour..Strain the tea into 2 glass and add neede sugar two it and have it hot..
